I am continuously baffled by the lack of research performed by those who put hammock stands on the market.

It is not rocket science, and here on Hammock Forums, there lies a dearth of information on what will or will not be successful.

    12-foot hammocks

[EDIT] 20-lbs max weight for the stand itself, and a capacity of 600 lbs for two people.

    12-foot tarp configuration

No one seems to get it, as the above minimum standards would solve most of the issues that potential customers wish to see incorporated.

Does anyone really care if the stand sets up in 3-seconds, and when that is done you can't get a decent lay or dry sleep?

This seems marketed for college kids on campus.

Aside from it not being designed to fit an 11' hammock thinking I'll let others try this out. This thing looks like it might fold up like a swiss army knife when in use.

If those uprights were 6-9" longer each, I'd LOVE it. IT would fit my hammock as is and put me higher off the ground ... as is ... pass

Anymaka send me one of these stands a while ago. I knew my regular 11" hammocks wouldn't fit, but I was curious to test it anyway. They did send me one of their own hammocks that I did manage to fit one of my under quilts to. I must admit, even though it's a simple hammock without any bells and whistles, I still got a decent lay/sleep. I'll probably just bring it on family car camping/tent/beach trips, to have as a quick way of hanging a lounging hammock...

The same challenge goes for using a bug net. Note there was no tarp solution either. As this is more of a car camping product, the tarp could be stand-alone with its own support poles. But warning flags go up when few of the video reviews mention the length of the hammock they are using or the distance between support ends.
I noticed that as well. 8" to 12" of the hammock folded over the top makes my 11" hammock a 9-9.5 footer??? Hard pass!

I always like going SOBO; somehow, it feels like going downhill.
